Here are 5 Things We Learned about Anna.
What made you...you?
Supportive parents to start. Growing up in an environment that fostered independent thinking and individuality really allowed me to be as creative as I wanted to be and study what peaked my interests: having all that encouragement early-on really gave me a strong foundation. No joke, every decision I made whether it be choosing a college, flirting with the art of the cocktail in bartending school, or drastically changing careers was always embraced. And not just by my parents, but by my husband, sisters, and close friends as well. I think what truly makes people who they are is who they surround themselves with. So that, and also exposure to travel early-on really stuck with me. Whether through actual vacations, or even absorbing culture through films and books, all of the above are big sources of happiness for me.
When are you happiest?
(Oh how cliché is this answer?) When I’m in the kitchen. The fun thing about being a personal chef is that I get to work and play not only in my own kitchen, but my clients’ kitchens as well. Traveling is a great source of joy and inspiration as well. And on the other end of the spectrum, simply sitting down at the end of a long day with a food or design magazine to zone out with is pure bliss.
Would you rather have a muse or be a muse?
Boy this is a tricky one. Not sure if I can choose just one option because I think in order to be a muse you have to have one as well. I mean, can you really be a muse if you don’t personally have a few tucked into your back pocket already?
Who do you admire?
People who have a strong sense of self.
What is important?
Where to begin. I would have to say being conscious about enjoying the simple pleasures of everyday life. That, and to never stop learning (or laughing). Lastly, not being afraid to put yourself in situations that might be out of your comfort zone: I think those are the places where inspiration thrives.
