5 Things We Learned... Astrid Krogh

Astrid Krogh’s studio lies within the Islands Brygge district of Copenhagen, towards the south near the area of Havenstaden. It’s easy to get lost (and I did). Streets intertwine and lead to pockets of industrial warehouses, harbor waterfront, and sharp, residential high-rises to contrast against ramshackle makers’ studios.

It’s a pulsing, ever-changing corner of the city and within a quiet warehouse, you will find Astrid and her workshop of light installations, textiles, and gilded surfaces. Her art explores the nuances of sensory experience, triggering emotion through light, color, and touch. Classically trained at The Danish Design School, Astrid combines traditional techniques with innovative materials. You can find her work at 21C Museums, Design Miami Basel, Longchamp, PAD London, and other international, public sites.

Here are 5 Things We Learned about Astrid.

When I am in the early summer mornings are standing on the beach all alone totally awakened after fresh morning swim ..then I feel alive and connected with the elements

Would you rather have a muse or be a muse?

I already have a muse and could not live without (it)

Who do you admire?

People who one way or the other (know how to) translate the greatness of life
