5 Things We Learned... Cassandra
Cassandra Handley and I met during my brief, but memorable move to Savannah, GA in 2015. Strong, self-aware, confident, and loyal: Cassandra is exactly the new friend you want to make when undergoing a big move (NYC to Savannah was just that). Her quiet kindness belies a resilient creative and her ability to channel this into her work is truly unique. As a writer and editor, her work has included content for Vanity Fair (digital and print), Boston magazine, Savannah magazine, and Rue La La, among others. I’m looking forward to the publication of her first book.
Here are 5 Things We Learned about Cassandra.
What made you...you?
Cutting my teeth in New York City/New Jersey early in my life and career. At the time, filling my schedule with as much busyness and to-dos as possible seemed to be the path toward advancement. I’ve slowed my pace as I’ve gotten older, simplified, and now I just enjoy. Life is too short to rush everywhere and everything.
When are you happiest?
Family. The beach. Traveling. Baking. Cycling. Writing.
Would you rather have a muse or be a muse?
Have a muse probably. People watching is a favorite pastime of mine. (The best people watching I’ve found in this world is at the Jersey Shore boardwalks.)
Who do you admire?
My step-sister. She just got a doctorate in geology and I’m so proud of her.
What is important?
Good food
