5 Things We Learned... Sarah-Linda Forrer
Sarah-Linda Forrer is an Amsterdam based Creative Director and Founder at Sarah-Linda. Rooted in the French Art de Vivre, her passion for eating well, celebrating life, and enjoying a true connection to our food has blossomed into collections of sensual tableware and interior accessories. Inspired by a naturally epicurean lifestyle, she design pieces that celebrate a redefined luxury. Her collections are a harmonious blend of refined elegance, quality and joie de vivre, centred around the pleasures of the table. A combination of sensual feminine lines, layered colours and natural textures – designed to caress your senses, form the basis of her work.
Here are 5 Things We Learned about Sarah.
What made you...you?
The way I grew up and the values that I was infused with during my youth, living in the middle of nowhere in the French Pyrenees. Eating mostly from our vegetable garden and living so close to nature instilled in me my deep love for Mother Earth, for pure beauty and real food, for creativity, quality and a naturally hedonistic lifestyle. On the other side, we were the odd ones out and feeling different has been something I’ve struggled with at first, but brought me so much in the long run. I’m very glad we were the different
ones.When are you happiest?
Barefoot in the grass, having deep conversations with good people, surrounded by gorgeous nature, a glass of natural wine and delicious food from the garden. Feeling nourished on all levels.
Would you rather have a muse or be a muse?
Can I say both? As a designer, nature’s creations are my ultimate muse, from the texture of a shell to the curves of a female body. But I hope that through my work, I can inspire others too. My dream is to create beauty and bring a moment of marvel to daily life.
Who do you admire?
People who are fundamentally themselves, and courageously go after their dreams, their ambitions and their truth. But more specifically, persons whose work I admire and who have given me inspiration and courage along the way of my tableware adventure are Micheal Pollan, Dan Barber, David Hieatt, Sara Blakely and Pauline Laigneau to name a few.
What is important?
Nature. Without a healthy ecosystem we are nothing.
